Welcome to Mrs. Sloan'sThird Grade Classroom
Announcements
We are very busy in Third Grade learning many new things! We have researched saints and have each reported on a saint special to us in Religion. In Math we conducted surveys of the entire school, used tally charts, made bar graphs and then analyzed our data. In Science we have done some hands on learning about plants and in Social Studies we are learning about different cultures. We are also learning about main ideas and details, word origins and tons of vocabulary in Reading. We are looking forward to multiplication and cursive handwriting soon! Third graders are becoming responsible and independant, just ask us how!
Homework
Third graders will have homework every night, Monday through Thursday. Homework is meant to be a review or extra practice of the day's school work. Each student should be able to complete their homework independently and in 40 minutes or less. If you find that your child is having difficulties please write me a note and attach it to the homework, chances are if your child is having a hard time, others are too, and I will then go over the material again in class. All assignments will be written in planners by your child, to be brought home each night. Planners are a great way to study spelling words each night, and to become organized students. I will not be posting nightly homework here, this will be where I post long term projects. If you have any concerns about homework please send me an email or note.
